Eating Healthy While Traveling Day 3 – Sardines and a Public Gym

I started off the day with breakfast and was looking forward to having 3 meals. Alas that was not to be. In my excitement of going to to watch Nigeria play in Brazil, I skipped lunch, well I didn’t skip lunch I was too excited to eat. So Day 3 ended up being a 2-meal day once again.

I wasn’t happy about the outcome of the match between Nigeria and Iran. I was really hoping for a better performance from the Super Eagles than the one displayed. Earlier in the day I discovered an amazing find – A public gym in the Park. Yay!!! A gym that is free and right in the mix of the hustle and bustle of Downtown Curitiba in Brazil.

Breakfast
I had breakfast in the hotel. I quickly realized that I needed more than what was being offered especially with a short run and trip to the gym planned. I went to my room to get a tin of sardines. I had packed some tins of sardines and wild salmon for emergency sprucing up of breakfast,lunch or dinner when needed. I ended up with a sardine sandwich, granola with yoghurt and some fruit.

      Thanks Nnenna. Most people don’t like the smell of sardines, but if you get can past that, you will find that it is chock full of nutrients. Being a pescatarian I wanted to make sure I was well-equipped in the meat-loving and soccer-loving country of Brazil.
