The change of life’, ‘midlife years’, ‘the time of life’ – different name for the same phase. As long as you live long you will go through this natural and normal process in life. The simple term for it is menopause.

What is the menopause?

“Thanks to menopause, I’ve gone slightly nuts. I could be laughing and crying at the same time. I have become overly dramatic and sensitive about the pettiest of things. And oh, one moment, I’m profusely sweating and the next, shivering cold. Most of all, I’ve never felt so ugly ever in my life than now.” – Ms. M. 🙂

Menopause is an expected and normal condition that all of us women experience as we age. This is the time in our life when we stop having our menstruation – which means the decline if not the end of our reproductive period.

However, the end of your reproductive period does not mean the end of your exciting beautiful life as a woman! Yes, Ms. M’s experience above is true but there are many things you can do to minimize the unpleasant symptoms and ailments brought about by menopause.

At 49, I am in menopause and I am experiencing all the good (yes, there’s a lot of goodness in it), the bad and the ugly that come with it. However, I am determined not to let it ruin my life and rule how I show up in the world.
