Exercise Is Not About Willpower

“Successful weight loss takes programming, not willpower.”
– Dr. Phil McGraw

Whether or not you’re a fan of Dr. Phil, there is truth to his quote above. Exercise and willpower. Is there a connection? Do you need “willpower” to commit yourself to exercise on a regular basis? To some extent, yes! However, you’ve got to understand that willpower by nature runs out as you use it. It comes and goes. And it can be gone when you need it most. Yes, willpower matters, but you need more than that to keep you on track.

In today’s video, I’m going to discuss with you some strategies that will keep you on track of your physical exercise routine even if your willpower is running out. We’ll talk specifically about:

♥ Feeling the pain
♥ Starting slow
♥ Slipping up and being okay with it
♥ Planning ahead
♥ Being kind to yourself
♥ Viewing exercise as a gift to yourself

Willpower can only get you so far but being strategic about reaching your exercise goals will take you closer to the achievement of your ultimate fitness goal. Go ahead and watch the video above.
