You May Not Realize It But The Comfortable Choice You Are Making Is Very Expensive

Today I’m going to be discussing how a comfortable choice can end up being very expensive.

Last week I attended a Mastermind in San Diego and during the conference we discussed how comfortable choices affect our businesses in the long run in an expensive way and how it is so important to make those uncomfortable choices in the growth of your business. When we discussed that, it immediately came to my mind the thought of our health. Our health involves making choices and sometimes comfortable choices might not serve us very well in the long run and can be rather expensive.

It could involve something as simple as knowing that eating a certain type of food makes us uncomfortable, it could probably be causing us to bloat or we just know that the symptoms after we eat those types of meals don’t really make us feel comfortable and we go “Oh, I like the taste” and we continue eating it. Sometimes it could be fast food, like eating fast food over and over again and you know you don’t feel right because you know our body gives us signals, I talk about this all the time. There are certain signals our bodies give to us. Sometimes we listen, sometimes we don’t. So we know those types of food. Sometimes it is not even as obvious. Sometimes it could even be something that is considered healthy but guess what, it may not be right for you but you decide “Oh, I’m gonna eat it anyway”. It could be something that could cause you acid reflux, it could be something as severe as your high blood pressure or could be something even more severe like diabetes.

In the long run these diseases cost a lot of money but more importantly they cost us a lot in terms of how we live our lives. It is so important that the choices that we make now help us to live a better quality of life as we get older or at least a life that is comparable to how we are living now. However, the choices that you make right now can kind of affect that. I was trying to tell my clients to think of their future selves. How do you want to see yourself in the future? What can you do now to give you what you want in the future for yourself? If you want your future self to be able to spend more time with your grandchildren, you want to be able to travel, you want to be as independent as possible, the choices that you make right now are going to affect that. Also, even how you work. The choices you make now are gonna affect how active you are going to be. You might wanna spend time with your grandchildren but maybe you wanna still keep on working. The choices you make now can affect that. So they can end up being very costly ones if you don’t make the right choices right now.

If you are looking to make those uncomfortable choices, let me give you some suggestions. In the area of your food, you can make little tweaks right now. For instance, you can start to cut down on your portion sizes if you know you are eating more than enough. You’ll know when you eat more. You know how you feel when you eat more food. So if you know that is a regular practice and you wanna cut down, start to take smaller portions now and have in mind the visualization of what and how you want to be in the future.

The next area that I want you to look at is exercise. If you are not exercising right now, I want to challenge you to work out for 3-5 times a week, Ten (10) minutes. That’s all. Ten (10) minutes but be consistent. Ten (10) minutes a day, 3-5 times this week. Just do that and you will see a big difference. And as you start to do that, you can steadily increase it but start out with just ten (10) minutes. I know you have ten (10) minutes to spare for yourself.

So, two simple things that you can do right now to allow you to have a better future self. First one, cut down on your portion sizes and second of all make sure you exercise ten (10) minutes a day, 3-5 times this week. And if you are already doing this, great! But this is really for those who are not making the choices they know they need to make. Just make these two tweaks and you’ll see a big difference.
